At Montpelier Farms, we take the environment and soil conservation very seriously. We have 80 acres in tree preservation, as well as several soil conservation practices, such as; warm season grass plantings, wildlife food plots, wildlife habitat areas, grass filter strips and buffer areas, waterways with rock lined channels, subsurface drainage and tile lines, contour strips, onsite farm composting facility, no till and minimum till practices, and all natural “organic” crop production areas.
Our future conservation projects consists of a stream restoration, a new stream crossing, roof runoff management, additional subsurface drainage, onsite biodiesel production, solar power/wind power projects, and pumpkin recycling and collection throughout the county.
Montpelier Farms was named the 2010 Soil Conservation Farm of the Year!
